Kinetic Martial Arts was founded by Master Trent Madsen in 2004. It began by offering two classes a week from a church hall in Cronulla. By 2009, our members wanted more classes, and so we moved to a full time Dojang (meaning a place to practice) at 16 Cronulla St. Cronulla. Shortly after, Master Trent left his ‘day job’ to continue his studies, and teach martial arts full-time.

Today, there are many Kinetic Martial Arts clubs along the east coast of NSW. The club holds over 85 classes/week and runs countless grading and training days. Throughout the year, we host many visiting Martial Artists from other schools particularly at our gradings. As a result we have built a reputation for very strong and effective Hapkido, and an organised, systemised Brazilian Jiu Jitsu syllabus.

Chief Instructor, Master Trent has over 20 years experience and leads a team of over 10 instructors. Master Trent continues his study in the martial arts and is now 5th Dan in Hapkido, 2nd Dan in Taekwondo, and Purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He has studied and holds rank in other arts including Judo, Aikido and Japanese Jiu Jitsu.

Master Trent firmly believes that will power is a muscle that can be trained, and that when developed can allow us to change our habits, and as such the course of our lives.

Because of this belief, those that train with us often find that they get a lot more out of their training than they put in. They will surely learn superior self-defence skills, and they can be involved in many other activities within the club, but the greatest gift that Kinetic Martial Arts gives is the development of will power. This empowers our members to set goals and achieve them in all areas of their life – not only martial arts. Being part of our club is often a life-changing experience.

Our school rules truly reflect the culture which is embedded in our club:

Never Initiate Conflict
Respect Your Instructor and Black Belts
Respect and Pride for the Dojang
Respect your Training Partners
Respect Yourself
